I’m not really a bimmer person so I was a bit surprised by an E30 that said M325is with an M badge. I am aware of the great M3 with hips and the 325is, but I didn’t know this was a thing, it looks factory and had a beefy exhaust like an M3, sounded good.

I was wondering how I might have missed it. Maybe he filled it with M3 parts. Or he i s just a BMW rebadger, not like that is rare!

Talk about brand dilution.

How can we make buying an M3 less interesting!? Then again they sell crap loads of mediocre cars and SUVs with some sporty M package and print money. But for a brand that people might care about, it sucks.

Ban! Has too many pistons to be a real M3.

Love the pearl Z with the 2k bumper. Though I’m generally not a fan of aftermarket 2k bumpers on early models..

Also those wheels. C’mon bro

My guess is it’s either just a stick in badge or it has an S54 swap (e36 M6 engine)

BMW marketed a interesting E30 model in Italy and Portugal due to their huge taxation for cars over 2.0 litres.

The BMW “320is” was outwardly identical to a n o r m a l 3 2 5 i but the engine was a short-stroke 2.0 litre version of the S14 engine (including the “ M Power” valvetrain cover). It also had a Getrag “sports” (dog-leg) gearbox and LSD , b u t n o “ M ” b a d g e s.

It’s a “baby M3" of sorts, with prices to match.

nope, not an ///M. The only 80's BMW to get an M moniker AFIK with no “m- gine” was the e28 M535i, which wasn’t available in the U.S.

It ’s about as real as a C/W 123 300CDs AMG .  Nice green on the old G.

By the sound of it I think he just packed it full of M parts and invented his own, what else can you do with e30 M3 prices!

I believe there was an M635i as well. Both were precursors to the full-on M5/M6

It’s real in the sense that it exists? :) But no, not something BMW ever offered from the factory.

The little Italian stallions are possibly even more collectible than the normal e30 m3.

They are certainly rarer. I’d say it is unlikely they’ll ever reach the price of an E30 M3 (even with the sports suspension it is not quite the same chassis) but they’ll get close.

Not sure. I know we got the actual M-cars, and the CSi pre-pre-cursors.
